The biggest concerns about cloud computing via a presentation at Gartner’s Symposium in Orlando are:

Security;

Lack of compliance and auditing;

Quality of service;

verifying cost savings;

Failure remediation.

For many – the cloud is a great idea but far from ready for prime time. Unless they build their own dedicated cloud (private) on their own hardware and place it in their own datacenter or COLOCATE it – they are unsure of the security concerns, unable to verify compliance as well as pass an audit. The savings are questionable for many as well.

Let’s take for example an organization that needs to have 5TB of storage. On the average cloud that storage would cost well over $12K per month. Grabbing their own infrastructure in just a few months of COLOCATION would have an immediate ROI. For an organization that needs 5TB of Transfer – this could be very costly with many of the cloud providers a whopping $1K or more not including the storage fees.

Finally – what happens when the perfect storm hits and its raining on your cloud? Raining on a parade is one thing – you can grab an umbrella – but when your hosted cloud is down – you cannot do anything and need to wait… until someone else calms the storm.

If your interested in mitigating these concerns – contact our team on how a Private Cloud offering, Dedicated Server(s) or Hosted Backup Solutions from R1Soft and Hop off a Cloud will assist your organization.

Here @ Cloud Hopping we have what is considered to be perhaps the strangest strategy towards customer care… EVERYONE DOES IT. Don’t be shocked if you find the janitor picking up the telephone or answering an email on occasion. Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM). This is a concept that goes to the CORE of who we are.

One of the first jobs I had was as a newspaper delivery boy in Duncansville PA. A Short time into the job I was asked to take on a few additional streets… a few weeks later – more streets… I asked the manager if I was able to begin doing sales – he said – Sales – your only 13. I knocked door to door anyhow and suddenly I had to begin hiring friends to help with deliveries.

My older brother, Fred said that I should simply have them do all the deliveries and I could sleep in and still get paid. My Uncle Bob took me aside and said,

“Glenny – listen here – one thing you need to learn “EVERYONE MUST UNDERSTAND EVERYONES ROLE”

He was right.

Fast forward to today – and you will find here @ Cloud Hopping – (and our other companies including Typo3USA) there are ZERO delegator’s – There are ZERO non-important roles. If you want the manager – you already have them on the phone – Every person is empowered to satisfy your organizations needs, requirements and in most cases – your wants as well. We offer no canned responses – and do not believe in changing our “culture” for the customer on the phone. Culture is a by product of consistent behavior. Our Consistent Behavior of Exceeding the Expectations of our customers is paramount to everything we do.

If you call today and the janitor were to answer the phone – don’t worry – they most likely are the CFO, Customer Care, a Data Center Tech or even me – the CEO.

We do not operate with a “Front of the House vs. Back of the House” mentality – Everyone needs to be connected to our customers in order for our customers to succeed - This mentality provides our clients with the quickest and most reliable response.
